Kia Parts

Kyongseong Precision Industry, founded in 1944 in Korea after being acquired by the Kia Industry Company, began producing bicycles in 1952, and then switched to motorcycles and three-wheelers in 1961.

10 years later, the first small four-wheeled truck called Titan was introduced, which is still considered the archetype of the modern truck in Korea.

1972 was the year of the IPO as well as the introduction of the first gasoline engine ever produced in Korea.

Just a year later it was the turn of the first fully Korean car, called the KIA BRISA. Kia's hard-working engineers succeeded in 1978 in producing the first factory diesel engine, and then concentrated on designing vehicles under license granted by the Fiat and Peugeot groups for the Asian market.

Around 1986, a successful collaboration with Ford and Mazda was initiated, culminating in the design of the Pride model, a hit with more than 2 million vehicles sold.

In 1992 entry into the U.S. market took place, and a year later: into the German market. In 1995-98, the Sportage model was produced at the Karmann plant in Osnabrück, Germany. However, in the wake of the Asian financial crisis in the years 1999-2000 the company was incorporated into the Hyundai Group.

The Kia brand (now part of the Hyundai consortium) remains, however, the world's seventh-largest automaker.

In addition to the Rio and Soul hatchbacks, to date the Korean manufacturer also offers some micro models such as the Venga and Picanto.

Popular sedans include the Magentis, Opiros, and Optima models, while Kia's most successful off-road vehicle is the Sportage model. Currently 12 different vehicles are offered in Germany, designed in cooperation between Kia and Hyundai at the Rüsselsheim plant.

Like many other German cars, including: the Audi A4 and VW Golf, the Kia Cee'd has also been produced in Slovakia since 2006.

Given that it is built in Germany and produced in Slovakia, it is an all-European product.
